poem – The sensuality of this body

The sensuality of this body

The sensuality
of this body
which was told
bodies are ugly
in so many words
which was slapped
away at so as to
kill the nerves of desire

The sensuality
of this body
scared skittering
at touches
hateful too
of its own
volition to move
legs pinioning
arms fuming
hips churning
a machine that thinks
its purpose is to stop

The sensuality
of this body
embryonic still
worm white
ungrown into itself
untrusting
its own tensions working
clumsy in the air in the
simplicity of gravity
and clumsy in the
surrender of fucking

The sensuality
of this body
as a bonsai wired
so much of it, really
rather wills to sit
prone, desireless
unmoving

  1. Eloquence with a grittiness. I enjoyed it very much. I’d like to invite you to 1markt.wordpress.com and if you are moved please leave a comment.

  2. “this body as a bonsai wired”…this line captures such emotion and feelings of how things can be imposed upon another person….excellent imagery.
