7/4/10 – poem, my scheherazade

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
A bit clunky, and certainly not July 4th material [see my “boot steps” for that] – maybe one for going back to and spending more time on?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
my scheherazade

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Wandered away again, Scheherazade
the grand vizier is yet to find you?
Here, come here, sit here, right here
by me, I the one in this palace who tells the tales
now you relax, Scheherazade
put up your slender silk-sandaled feet
lean back atop my jasmine-worded pillows
unstopper your ears of all your jangling jewels
now, it is mine to weave you your dreams
I am your spinner of yarns
your sultan of stories
your imam of wonders
as you flutter deep, a feather in oil
tomorrow you will carry these tales home
to recount and retell
for you to own your own soul
one more day forever
