7/12/10 – poem, grain of sand

Reality – Life – gave me a little whup upside the head this morning. Wrote two little poems about it – actually almost posted the more bitter one, thought, then chose this the more positive (or sappy) one. But, still harboring an edge…?

So here
catch that grain of sand slipping
through your hourglass
hold it feel its
infinitely miniscule
bite on your palm
there that
is what it is

It just is
so now smile
and say you
love it

  1. Yes! I love it… that little grain of sand, and little millisecond of time, this little poem… all of it!
Just gimme the hourglass…that’s all I ask! 🙂

  2. I wondered if the grain of sand was not life itself…that little bite that the universe feels when we die…ah just a random thought.

  3. Nice poem. Time is such an ephemeral thing. The earth is but a piece of lint in the tapestry of the universe.
