Lying in the grass
by the beach
on the Chesapeake
I looked up
upon the night sky
so black so black
it was a wide hand
inches from my face
but for the first time
through it through it
I saw the distant
Milky Way

  1. night sky is beautiful, love the image!

  2. I really dug this — normally I am not a fan of repetition of poetry but in this piece it gives me the impression of getting lost looking at the sky. Your image is really strong, too; all in all a super solid poem!

  3. Cooool!!!
I really liked the apt use of repetition here …
And the them and imagery were perfect!!!
The image sooooo complements your poem..
    NICE!

  4. Only when its dark enough, you can see the stars.
