five times
turn the knob
five times
twist the tap
five times
test the stove
five times
tug the latch
five times
tip the glass
five times

  1. What a fascinating way to address this particular topic…very nicely done.

  2. I like this a lot, Lawrence — the meter and rhyme scheme (so regular and dictatorial) reflect the subject matter so well. The words are as constrained as the OCD sufferer.

  3. I may not have OCD, but I’ve had those feelings whenever I panic.
